Delicious and easy-to-make chocolate covered Oreos with a glossy chocolate coating and colorful sprinkles, perfect for parties and sweet cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 20 classic Oreo sandwich cookies (regular size, Double Stuf optional)
  • 12 ounces semisweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or coconut oil
  • ½ cup assorted colorful sprinkles
  • Optional: ¼ cup white chocolate chips for drizzling
  • Optional: pinch of sea salt flakes

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and set aside sprinkles in a shallow bowl.
  2. Melt 12 ounces of chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon of vegetable or coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring until smooth and glossy, or melt over a double boiler on low heat.
  3. Using a fork or dipping tool, submerge one Oreo entirely into the melted chocolate, lift and tap gently to remove excess chocolate.
  4. Immediately sprinkle the dipped Oreo with colorful sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.
  5. Place each dipped Oreo on the lined baking sheet and let sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes until chocolate hardens, or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to speed setting.
  6. Optional: Melt ¼ cup white chocolate chips and drizzle over set Oreos for a decorative touch. Let set completely before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature Oreos to prevent chocolate from seizing or cracking. Add a tablespoon of oil to chocolate for a glossy finish and easier dipping. Avoid overdipping to keep coating thin and crisp. If chocolate thickens, gently warm again. Store in airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
