A smooth and sweet caramel dip made with cream cheese and brown sugar, perfect for dipping crisp fall apples. This easy homemade recipe is a crowd-pleaser for cozy gatherings and snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 24 tablespoons heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • Fresh apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), sliced
  • Optional: lemon juice for tossing apple slices

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese by letting it sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with brown sugar and powdered sugar. Mix on medium speed with an electric mixer for 2-3 minutes until smooth.
  3. Slowly add melted butter while mixing on low speed to keep the dip creamy.
  4. Add vanilla extract and ground cinnamon, then mix briefly to combine.
  5. Gradually pour in heavy cream or half-and-half, one tablespoon at a time, mixing after each addition until the dip reaches a smooth, dippable consistency.
  6. Cover and refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes to thicken and meld flavors.
  7. Before serving, drizzle caramel sauce over the top of the dip.
  8. Wash and slice apples about 1/4-inch thick, toss with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  9. Arrange apple slices around the dip and serve.

Notes

If cream cheese is too cold or lumpy, microwave for 5-10 seconds to soften. Add cream gradually to avoid a runny dip. For best flavor, chill dip at least 30 minutes before serving. Toss apple slices with lemon juice to prevent browning. Can be made a day ahead and refrigerated. Stir before serving and bring to room temperature for best texture.
