A quick and easy savory snack featuring seasoned ground beef, melted cheeses, and flaky crescent rolls baked into a delicious ring. Perfect for potlucks, game day, or casual gatherings.

  • 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning mix
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened (optional but recommended)
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • Optional toppings: sliced black olives, diced tomatoes, jalapeños, sour cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up, until browned and cooked through, about 7-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Sprinkle taco seasoning over beef, add 1/4 cup water, and stir. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened.
  4. In a small bowl, soften cream cheese by stirring until smooth. Spread evenly over unrolled crescent dough on the baking sheet.
  5. Spoon taco beef mixture evenly over cream cheese layer, leaving a 1-inch border around edges. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses on top.
  6. Fold triangle points of crescent dough over filling, tucking each point under the ring to form a circle and seal edges.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes until crescent dough is golden brown and cheese is bubbling.
  8. Remove from oven, garnish with chopped green onions and optional toppings. Let cool 5 minutes before slicing into wedges.

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese for easy spreading. Tent with foil if edges brown too quickly. Let ring rest before slicing to prevent filling from oozing. Can prepare filling ahead and refrigerate. For gluten-free, use gluten-free crescent dough alternatives.
