These crispy chicken wings are coated with everything bagel seasoning and topped with a tangy cream cheese drizzle, creating a unique and flavorful twist on classic wings. Perfect for casual gatherings or a quick, tasty meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings (mix of drumettes and flats), fresh or thawed
  • 2 tablespoons everything bagel seasoning (with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried garlic, onion flakes, and salt)
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder (not baking soda)
  • ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened (full-fat recommended)
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Optional: pinch of smoked paprika or cayenne pepper for heat

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Position your rack in the middle for even cooking.
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the baking powder, salt, black pepper, and everything bagel seasoning.
  4. Toss the wings in olive oil first, then add them to the seasoning mix and toss thoroughly to coat evenly.
  5. Arrange the wings on a wire rack placed over a baking sheet, spacing them out for air circulation.
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until deep golden brown and crispy.
  7. While wings bake, prepare the cream cheese drizzle by whisking together softened cream cheese, milk (start with 2 tablespoons), and lemon juice until smooth and pourable. Add more milk if needed but keep it thick enough to drizzle.
  8. Remove wings from oven and let rest for 5 minutes to keep skin crisp and juices redistributed.
  9. Drizzle the cream cheese mixture over the wings just before serving or serve on the side for dipping.
  10. Optional: If wings are not crispy enough, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end, watching carefully to avoid burning.

Notes

Pat wings dry thoroughly to ensure crispiness. Baking powder is key for crackly skin. Use a wire rack for best results or flip wings halfway if using parchment paper. Let wings rest after baking to keep skin crisp. Broil briefly if needed for extra crispness. Store leftovers in airtight container and reheat in oven to maintain crispness. Cream cheese drizzle can be stored separately and whisked before serving.
