Deliciously crunchy chocolate clusters with freeze-dried strawberries and crispy rice cereal, perfect for a quick and easy sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz (340 g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (30 g) freeze-dried strawberries
  • 3 cups (90 g) crispy rice cereal
  • 2 tbsp (28 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • A pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate chips and unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring well between each, until smooth and glossy (about 2-3 minutes).
  2. Stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt into the melted chocolate mixture.
  3. Gently fold in crispy rice cereal and freeze-dried strawberries using a spatula, ensuring all pieces are coated but not crushed.
  4. Drop spoonfuls (about 1 tablespoon each) onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing about an inch apart.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or until the chocolate hardens. Alternatively, freeze for 15 minutes to speed up setting.
  6. Store clusters in an airtight container once firm.

Notes

Melt chocolate slowly to avoid burning or seizing. Use freeze-dried strawberries for best crisp texture. For dairy-free, substitute butter with coconut oil and use dairy-free chocolate chips. Avoid fresh strawberries as they add moisture and make clusters soggy. Handle cereal gently to keep clusters crispy.
