These easy cheesy ham sliders on soft Hawaiian rolls are perfect for quick party bites, combining sweet rolls, savory ham, melted Swiss cheese, and a buttery garlicky glaze for a crowd-pleasing snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12-count pack soft Hawaiian rolls, split horizontally
  • 12 ounces thinly sliced deli ham or leftover cooked ham
  • 8 ounces Swiss cheese, sliced thin (Gruyère or provolone as alternatives)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half, keeping the pack connected.
  3. Layer the ham evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
  4. Cover the ham with a layer of Swiss cheese.
  5. Place the top half of the rolls over the ham and cheese, pressing gently.
  6. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and poppy seeds until combined.
  7. Brush the glaze liberally over the top of the slider sandwich.
  8. Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for another 5-7 minutes until tops are golden and cheese is bubbling.
  10. Remove from oven and let sliders rest for 5 minutes.
  11. Slice into 12 individual sliders using a sharp knife and serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter option, swap butter for olive oil and use low-sodium ham. For gluten-free, use gluten-free slider buns. For dairy-free, use dairy-free cheese and vegan butter. To avoid soggy rolls, do not over-glaze and bake covered initially. Let sliders rest after baking to set cheese and glaze. To toast bottoms, place baking dish on lower rack for last few minutes.
