These easy homemade fruit roll-ups are a quick, healthy, and delicious snack made from pureed fruit, perfect for kids’ lunches or a fun treat. They are naturally sweet, chewy, and free from artificial ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups (450g) fresh or frozen fruit (strawberries, raspberries, mangoes, or a mix)
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract (optional)
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare your fruit by washing and hulling strawberries or peeling and chopping mangoes. Thaw frozen fruit completely and drain excess liquid.
  2. Place fruit in a blender or food processor. Add honey or maple syrup, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend until smooth and spreadable.
  3. Pour the fruit puree into a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir constantly for about 15 minutes until thickened and coats the back of a spoon.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Spread the thickened puree evenly to about 1/8-inch (3 mm) thickness using a spatula.
  5. Dry the fruit leather in an oven preheated to 140°F (60°C) or in a dehydrator for 3 to 4 hours. Check periodically until the surface is no longer sticky but still pliable.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool completely. Peel off the parchment or mat, cut into strips with scissors or a pizza cutter, and roll up in parchment paper or plastic wrap.

Notes

Avoid drying at too high a temperature to prevent cracking. Spread puree evenly to about 1/8-inch thickness for best texture. If puree is too runny, cook longer; if too thick, add a teaspoon of water. Store in airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.
