A refreshing and fun summer snack featuring watermelon slices topped with creamy Greek yogurt and fresh mixed berries. Quick to prepare and perfect for hot days or light gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small seedless watermelon, sliced into 1-inch thick rounds
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or low-fat)
  • 1 cup mixed fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries, sliced strawberries, blackberries)
  • 12 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • A handful fresh mint leaves, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds or crushed nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the watermelon under cool water. Using a sharp knife, slice the watermelon into 1-inch thick rounds. Then cut each round into 6-8 triangular slices.
  2. In a small bowl, stir the Greek yogurt until smooth. Mix in honey or maple syrup if desired for sweetness.
  3. Lay the watermelon slices flat on a serving platter. Spread a generous dollop of Greek yogurt evenly across each slice, leaving the rind edges bare.
  4. Scatter the mixed berries over the yogurt, arranging them prettily.
  5. Sprinkle chopped mint leaves and optional chia seeds or crushed nuts over the top. Drizzle with honey if desired.
  6. Serve immediately to prevent sogginess. If storing, cover lightly and refrigerate for up to 2 hours.

Notes

Choose a ripe but firm watermelon to avoid soggy slices. Use thick Greek yogurt for best texture. Assemble just before serving to keep watermelon fresh. Experiment with seasonal fruits and toppings like toasted coconut or granola for variety.
