These baked ranch pork chops are incredibly juicy and flavorful, thanks to a quick pan-sear and a covered bake. Perfect for busy weeknights, this simple recipe uses everyday ingredients to create a crowd-pleasing dinner that’s ready in about 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pork chops, about 1-inch thick (bone-in or boneless)
  • 1 packet (3 tablespoons) ranch seasoning mix
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: fresh parsley or chives for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the pork chops completely dry with paper towels.
  3. Season both sides of the pork chops with the ranch seasoning mix, rubbing it in gently.
  4. Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  5. Add the butter and let it melt, swirling to combine with the oil.
  6. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly, until fragrant.
  7. Place the pork chops in the skillet and sear undisturbed for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Flip the pork chops using tongs and sear the other side for another 3 minutes.
  9. Pour the chicken broth around the pork chops (not directly over them).
  10. Cover the skillet with a lid or tightly with aluminum foil.
  11. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, depending on thickness.
  12. Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should read 145°F (63°C) in the thickest part.
  13. Remove from the oven and let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  14. Serve immediately, spooning pan juices over the top.

Notes

For best results, use thick-cut pork chops (about 1-inch thick). Let the chops rest for a full 5 minutes after baking to allow juices to redistribute. If using thin chops, reduce oven time to about 8-10 minutes. For a creamy variation, whisk in 1/2 cup heavy cream after removing the chops and simmer until thickened.
