A warm and inviting pumpkin cream cheese cinnamon roll bake topped with a maple glaze, perfect for cozy fall mornings or sweet snacks. This easy recipe uses refrigerated cinnamon rolls and pantry staples to create a moist, flavorful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (12-ounce) can refrigerated cinnamon rolls with icing removed
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 12 tablespoons milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • Optional: pinch of nutmeg or cloves
  • Optional: chopped pecans or walnuts
  • Optional: orange zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish lightly with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Beat with a hand mixer or whisk until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Fold in pumpkin puree gently until just combined to create an even orange-tinted cream cheese swirl.
  4. Open the can of refrigerated cinnamon rolls and remove the icing. Place the rolls snugly in the prepared baking dish, leaving a little room for expansion.
  5. Dollop spoonfuls of the pumpkin cream cheese mixture over the cinnamon rolls. Using the back of a spoon or a knife, gently swirl the mixture into the tops of the rolls.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until rolls are puffed, golden brown around the edges, and the cream cheese swirl is set but still creamy. Tent with foil if the top browns too quickly.
  7. While the bake cools for 5-10 minutes, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk to make a smooth, pourable glaze.
  8. Drizzle the maple glaze evenly over the warm bake and serve warm.

Notes

Use softened cream cheese for smooth mixing. Fold pumpkin gently to maintain a marbled swirl effect. Tent with foil if top browns too fast. Warm cream cheese mixture briefly if too stiff to swirl. For gluten-free, use gluten-free cinnamon rolls; for dairy-free, use vegan cream cheese and plant-based milk.
