A quick and easy 5-minute overnight oats recipe that delivers a creamy, naturally sweet breakfast. Mashed banana and peanut butter create a decadent texture without any cooking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90g) rolled oats
  • 1 large ripe banana, mashed
  • 2 tablespoons (32g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk (any kind)
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) maple syrup or honey (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Optional toppings: sliced banana, extra peanut butter, cinnamon, chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. In a jar or container, mash the banana with a fork until smooth.
  2. Add milk, peanut butter, and maple syrup (if using). Whisk or stir until peanut butter is fully dissolved.
  3. Add rolled oats, chia seeds, and salt. Stir until well combined and oats are submerged.
  4. Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
  5. In the morning, stir the oats. If too thick, add a splash of milk.
  6. Top with desired toppings and enjoy.

Notes

Use a very ripe banana for natural sweetness. Chia seeds are key for creamy texture. Oats keep in fridge for up to 5 days. For a vegan version, use plant-based milk and maple syrup.
