A creamy, spicy buffalo chicken dip slow-cooked to perfection, ideal for parties and casual gatherings. This easy recipe blends cream cheese, shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, and ranch dressing for a crowd-pleasing snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups shredded cooked chicken (about 10.5 oz / 300g)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup buffalo wing sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Optional garnishes: chopped green onions or fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken by shredding about 3 cups of cooked chicken using two forks.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, buffalo wing sauce, and ranch dressing until smooth.
  3. Stir in garlic powder and onion powder to the mixture.
  4. Fold in shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
  5. Add shredded chicken to the creamy mixture and stir until well coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the slow cooker and spread evenly.
  7. Cook on low for 2 to 3 hours, stirring once or twice to prevent sticking.
  8. Check consistency after 2 hours; if too thick, add a splash of milk or ranch dressing; if too thin, cook longer uncovered.
  9. Before serving, garnish with chopped green onions or parsley and serve warm with tortilla chips or preferred dippers.

Notes

Softening the cream cheese before mixing prevents clumps. Stir occasionally during cooking to avoid burning. Adjust buffalo sauce to control heat. Can be cooked on high for 1 to 1.5 hours if short on time. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
