A velvety, spoon-coating eggnog cheesecake dip made effortlessly in the slow cooker. Perfect for holiday gatherings, this warm, spiced dip is rich, creamy, and pairs beautifully with cookies, pretzels, or fruit.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 ½ cups eggnog
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg, plus more for garnish
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Take cream cheese out of refrigerator 30 minutes before starting; cut into cubes. In a large bowl, beat softened cream cheese with a hand mixer on medium speed until smooth, about 2 minutes. Scrape down sides.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt until no white streaks remain.
  3. In a separate bowl or liquid measuring cup, whisk together eggnog, heavy cream, and vanilla extract.
  4. With hand mixer on low, gradually add sugar mixture to cream cheese; mix until just combined. Slowly pour in eggnog mixture while mixing on low until batter is thin and smooth.
  5. Pour mixture into a greased 3-4 quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 2 to 2 ½ hours. Do not cook on high.
  6. After 1 hour, gently stir the dip. After 2 hours, stir again; dip should be noticeably thicker and starting to pull away from sides.
  7. Dip is ready when thick enough to coat the back of a spoon and holds a slight shape when dropped back into the slow cooker. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
  8. Optional: Transfer to an oven-safe dish and broil on high for 2-3 minutes for a browned top. Watch carefully.
  9. Serve warm. Let sit 10-15 minutes after cooking to set slightly. Serve with desired dippers.

Notes

Low and slow is non-negotiable. Do not cook on high or dairy will separate. Soften cream cheese to room temperature to avoid lumps. Stir only once or twice. Dip thickens significantly as it cools; aim for warm pudding consistency when done. Can be made ahead and reheated.
