A tangy, smooth whipped feta dip paired with sweet roasted cherry tomatoes and a spicy-sweet hot honey drizzle, perfect for quick snacks or entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces block feta cheese, preferably firm and crumbly
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes (about 300g), halved
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons hot honey (or honey mixed with chili flakes)
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • A handful of chopped fresh basil or oregano for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Rinse and halve the cherry tomatoes. Toss them in a bowl with 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, a pinch of salt, and freshly ground black pepper.
  3. Spread the tomatoes evenly on the baking sheet, cut side up. Roast for 20-25 minutes until soft, caramelized, and slightly blistered.
  4. While the tomatoes roast, add feta, cream cheese, lemon juice, and minced garlic to a food processor. Pulse until smooth and creamy, about 1-2 minutes, scraping down the sides as needed.
  5. Taste the whipped feta and season with freshly ground black pepper. Add a tiny pinch of sugar if too tangy.
  6. Transfer the whipped feta to a serving bowl. Spoon the warm roasted cherry tomatoes over the top, including any pan juices.
  7. Drizzle 2 tablespoons of hot honey over the tomatoes and dip. Sprinkle red pepper flakes on top if desired.
  8. Garnish with fresh chopped basil or oregano. Serve immediately with pita chips, sliced baguette, or crunchy vegetables.

Notes

If feta isn’t smooth after blending, add a teaspoon of olive oil or a splash of milk (dairy or non-dairy). Do not store dip with tomatoes added to preserve texture. Roast tomatoes carefully to avoid burning. Hot honey can be substituted with honey mixed with chili flakes or cayenne pepper.
