A quick and easy Halloween snack featuring hot dogs wrapped in crescent roll dough to create crispy, festive mummies with playful mustard or ketchup eyes.

  • Hot dogs (regular beef or your favorite variety)
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Mustard or ketchup for eyes
  • Optional: thin slices of cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • Optional: 1 beaten egg or milk for egg wash

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and slice into thin strips about 1/4 inch (6 mm) wide.
  3. If using cheese, place a thin slice along the length of each hot dog.
  4. Wrap each hot dog with the dough strips diagonally, leaving small gaps to mimic mummy bandages.
  5. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the baking sheet with space between each.
  6. Brush the dough lightly with egg wash or milk for a golden finish (optional).
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until dough is puffed and golden brown.
  8. Once slightly cooled, use small dots of mustard or ketchup to create eyes on each mummy.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

Cut dough into thin strips for best mummy effect and crispiness. Leave small gaps when wrapping to prevent sogginess. Use egg wash for a golden crust. If dough browns too fast, tent with foil. Can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking. Air fryer cooking option available at 350°F for 8-10 minutes.
