These bite-sized turkey and cream cheese pinwheel roll-ups are quick, easy, and perfect for parties or snacks. Made with simple ingredients, they deliver a creamy, savory flavor that’s a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices sandwich bread (white or whole wheat, crusts removed)
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 slices deli turkey (about 6 ounces)
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh herbs (parsley or chives), chopped (optional)
  • Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional extras: thinly sliced cucumber or spinach leaves

Instructions

  1. Remove crusts from the sandwich bread slices for easier rolling. Let the cream cheese soften at room temperature for about 15 minutes if firm.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped herbs, and black pepper. Stir until smooth and well blended (about 2 minutes). This step is optional.
  3. Lay out each slice of bread on a cutting board. Using a butter knife or offset spatula, spread a thin, even layer of the cream cheese mixture over each slice, covering the entire surface.
  4. Place one or two slices of deli turkey evenly over the cream cheese spread. Add thin cucumber slices or spinach if desired.
  5. Starting at one short end, roll each slice up firmly but gently, making sure not to squeeze out the filling. The roll should be snug and hold together well.
  6. Wrap each roll tightly in plastic wrap or parchment paper. Place in the fridge for at least 15 minutes to firm up.
  7. Unwrap the rolls and place them seam-side down on a cutting board. Using a sharp serrated knife, slice each roll into 1-inch thick pinwheels, about 4-5 pinwheels per roll.
  8. Arrange the pinwheels on a platter and serve immediately or keep chilled until ready to eat.

Notes

Use softened cream cheese to avoid tearing the bread. Chill roll-ups before slicing for clean cuts. Spritz bread lightly with water if too dry. Serrated knife recommended for slicing. Can be made ahead and refrigerated up to 2 days. Does not freeze well.
