Quick and easy mummy hot dogs made with crescent roll strips wrapped around hot dogs, baked until golden, and topped with candy eyes. Perfect for Halloween parties, movie nights, or a fun family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 standard size hot dogs
  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 16 candy eyes (2 per mummy)
  • Mustard or ketchup for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough onto a cutting board. If using perforated sheets, press the seams together gently to create one solid sheet.
  3. Slice the dough into thin strips about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide using a pizza cutter or sharp knife. You should get about 8 to 10 strips per sheet.
  4. Wrap each hot dog: take one strip of dough and wrap it around a hot dog at a slight angle, leaving a small gap near the top for the eyes. Overlap the dough slightly as you go. Leave about an inch of hot dog exposed at the top and a little at the bottom.
  5. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the hot dogs are heated through.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Attach the candy eyes: while the mummy dogs are still warm, press two candy eyes onto the exposed hot dog at the top. If needed, use a tiny dab of mustard or ketchup to help them stick.
  9. Serve immediately with mustard and ketchup for dipping.

Notes

Keep the dough cold for easier handling. Don’t over-wrap; 2-3 wraps is perfect. Leave a gap at the top for the eyes. Use parchment paper for easy cleanup. Can be made ahead: wrap up to a few hours ahead and refrigerate, then bake when ready. For cheesy version, stuff a thin strip of cheese inside the hot dog before wrapping.
