Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill weed)
  • 4 large flour tortillas (burrito size, about 10 inches)
  • 1/2 pound deli turkey slices, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup fresh spinach leaves, washed and dried thoroughly
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make the cream cheese spread: In a small mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and fresh dill. Mix until smooth and well combined. Taste and adjust seasonings.
  2. Prep your work surface: Lay one tortilla flat on a cutting board. Ensure it is at room temperature.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture: Using a rubber spatula, spread about 2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the entire tortilla, going all the way to the edges.
  4. Layer the fillings: Place 2-3 slices of turkey on the bottom two-thirds of the tortilla. Layer a slice of provolone cheese on top of the turkey. Add a small handful of spinach leaves, spreading them evenly. Leave about an inch at the top edge of the tortilla bare.
  5. Roll it tight: Starting from the bottom edge, roll the tortilla away from you, keeping it tight but not so tight that filling squishes out. Use fingers to tuck filling in as you go. Press the bare edge gently to seal.
  6. Wrap and chill: Place the rolled tortilla seam-side down on a piece of plastic wrap. Wrap it tightly, twisting the ends like a candy wrapper. Repeat with remaining tortillas. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Slice and serve: Unwrap each roll and place on a cutting board. Using a sharp knife, slice off the uneven ends. Then slice the roll into 1-inch pinwheels. You should get about 6-8 per tortilla.

Notes

Don’t skip the chilling step—it ensures clean slices. Use room temperature ingredients for best results. For dairy-free, use dairy-free cream cheese and skip provolone. For gluten-free, use gluten-free tortillas or large lettuce leaves. The flavors meld and improve after a day in the fridge.
