Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) strawberry Jell-O gelatin mix (or any red berry flavor)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka or clear liquor of choice (adjust to taste)
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1 cup (240 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka or coconut rum
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) blue raspberry Jell-O gelatin mix (or blueberry flavor)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka or clear liquor
  • Optional garnishes: Mini American flags or toothpick flags, fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Layer: Dissolve 1 package of strawberry gelatin mix in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved. Add 1/2 cup vodka and mix gently. Pour into shot cups filling about one-third. Refrigerate for 30-40 minutes until set but slightly tacky.
  2. Prepare the White Layer: Sprinkle 1 package unflavored gelatin over 1 cup cold water and let bloom for 5 minutes. Heat gently until dissolved. Mix 1 cup sweetened condensed milk with 1/2 cup vodka. Slowly whisk warm gelatin into milk mixture until smooth. Cool slightly and pour over red layer. Refrigerate for 30 minutes until set.
  3. Prepare the Blue Layer: Dissolve 1 package blue raspberry gelatin mix in 1 cup boiling water. Stir thoroughly. Add 1/2 cup vodka and mix gently. Cool to room temperature before pouring over white layer. Chill for at least 1 hour until firm.
  4. Finishing Touches: Garnish each shot with a tiny American flag toothpick or fresh berry. Keep refrigerated until serving, preferably within 24 hours.

Notes

Ensure each layer is fully set but still slightly tacky before adding the next to prevent colors from blending. Cool gelatin mixtures to room temperature before pouring to avoid melting previous layers. Adjust alcohol content if firmer shots are desired. Non-alcoholic versions can substitute vodka with sparkling water or fruit juice. Store refrigerated and consume within 2 days for best texture.
