A quick, wholesome, and fun snack featuring crunchy apple slices topped with creamy peanut butter, crunchy granola, and a touch of cinnamon and honey. Perfect for after-school snacking that kids and adults love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples, thinly sliced (Gala or Honeycrisp preferred)
  • 1/2 cup creamy natural peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup crunchy granola (with nuts and a hint of cinnamon)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Optional toppings: mini chocolate chips, chia seeds, shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Rinse 2 large apples under cold water. Using a sharp knife, slice the apples thinly into rounds about 1/8-inch thick. Remove any seeds as you go.
  2. Toss the apple slices gently with 1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice to prevent browning and add a slight tang. Set aside.
  3. Place 1/2 cup of creamy natural peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 15-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and pourable (about 30-45 seconds). Avoid overheating.
  4. Lay the apple slices in a single layer on a large serving platter or plate, slightly overlapping like nachos.
  5. Drizzle the warmed peanut butter evenly over the apple slices.
  6. Sprinkle 1/3 cup of crunchy granola generously over the top.
  7. Dust with 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
  8. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of honey over everything for natural sweetness.
  9. Optionally, scatter mini chocolate chips, chia seeds, or shredded coconut on top.
  10. Serve immediately for best crunch and freshness.

Notes

Warm peanut butter gently to make drizzling easier. Toss apple slices with lemon juice immediately after slicing to prevent browning. Assemble just before serving to keep apples crisp and granola crunchy. Toast granola lightly for extra crunch and aroma. Optional toppings like mini chocolate chips or chia seeds add texture and flavor. Nut-free and dairy-free substitutions are possible.
