Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup roasted and salted almonds
  • 1 cup dark chocolate-covered almonds
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries
  • 1/2 cup dried mango strips
  • 1 cup salted pretzel sticks
  • 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, cubed
  • 4 ounces Gouda cheese, sliced
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 apple, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh grapes
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
  • Flaky sea salt, for finishing

Instructions

  1. Prep your cheese: Cube the sharp cheddar into bite-sized pieces, about 1/2-inch each. Slice the gouda into thin triangles or rectangles. Set aside on a small plate. Let cheese sit out for 10 minutes to come to room temperature.
  2. Slice the apple: Core the apple and slice into thin wedges, about 1/4-inch thick. Toss in a bowl with a splash of lemon juice and water to prevent browning. Drain before adding to the board.
  3. Arrange the bowls: Place small bowls of peanut butter and honey on the board first, slightly off-center.
  4. Add the cheese: Scatter cheddar cubes and gouda slices around the bowls in small clusters on opposite sides of the board.
  5. Layer the nuts: Pour roasted almonds and dark chocolate almonds into two separate piles. Place salty almonds near the cheddar and chocolate ones near the fruit.
  6. Scatter the dried fruit: Sprinkle dried cherries and mango strips around the board, tucking some under the cheese slices.
  7. Add the pretzels: Arrange pretzel sticks in small stacks or fan them out like pick-up sticks.
  8. Place the fresh fruit: Tuck apple slices and grapes into remaining gaps. Cluster grapes together for a natural look.
  9. Finish with chocolate chips and sea salt: Sprinkle dark chocolate chips casually over the board. Scatter flaky sea salt over chocolate almonds, pretzels, and cheese.
  10. Serve immediately: Set the board out with small plates, napkins, and toothpicks for the cheese.

Notes

Balance is key: mix salty and sweet components across the board. Add pretzels just before serving to keep them crunchy. Don’t skip the flaky sea salt—it elevates all flavors. Room temperature cheese is creamier. Use what you have; the board is forgiving. For best results, assemble 15 minutes before serving.
