A quick and easy summer drink combining frozen watermelon, lemonade, and ice for a perfectly balanced, refreshing slushie that’s perfect for hot days and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups seedless watermelon, cubed and frozen
  • 1 cup (240 ml) fresh lemonade (freshly squeezed or quality store-bought)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) ice cubes
  • 12 tablespoons sugar or honey (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish or blending)
  • Lemon slices (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cut seedless watermelon into roughly 1-inch cubes. Spread evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. If making fresh lemonade, squeeze about 4-5 lemons to yield 1 cup (240 ml) of juice. Sweeten with sugar or honey to taste, then chill.
  3. Add 4 cups of frozen watermelon cubes, 1 cup of lemonade, and 1 cup of ice cubes into a high-powered blender.
  4. Start blending on low speed to break up the ice, then increase to high and blend until smooth and slushy, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding a tablespoon of honey or sugar if desired, then blend briefly again.
  6. Pour into chilled glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves and lemon slices if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Freeze watermelon cubes flat and spaced to prevent clumping. Use freshly squeezed lemonade or a quality store brand for best flavor. Adjust sweetness after blending. Serve immediately for best texture. Leftover slushie does not store well once blended.
